Rebecca O'Sullivan Celebrant
"Helping celebrate your most important occasion with a uniquely personalised service"
My Pet Services are just as special to me as any other ceremony I perform, having worked in the veterinary industry for over 10yrs before I decided to become a Registered Celebrant. As well as having my own fur babies, I understand the special bond we develop with our fur, feathered and scaled friends. Our cherished fur, feathered and scaled babies provide us with unconditional love, protection and friendship without ever asking for anything in return and yet they always seem to leave us far too soon. While this is something that we never want to think about, I hope that becoming aware that someone is there to help you at this heartbreaking time to assist you with your grief and to say farewell, will help to ease your sorrow. In the first few days, and sometimes longer, after losing your fur, feathered or scaled baby your grief can seem overwhelming and you may appear at a loss as to who to turn to for help. While specialised Counsellors are very good and offer an amazing service, it appears there are not too many who are experienced with pet grief. I specialise in pet grief. Having suffered the loss of my own fur babies as well as seeing the pain people suffer when they lose theirs, I understand how you are feeling and what you are experiencing. Turning to someone to talk to that understands your grief and loss can help you through this stage and can be a very important step in the healing process. If you or if you know of someone who may not be coping too well, then give me call. I’m more than happy to have a chat over the phone or to visit in the comfort of people’s own homes and talk to people individually or as a family unit. I can also help you and your family by composing and performing a meaningful ceremony to honour the life and memory of your beloved fur, feathered or scaled baby. The service can be anything you would like it to be; simple or complex, conventional or exceptional and can be held where ever you like; either at home or any special place where you and your companion enjoyed being together. Regardless of how it’s tailored, having the chance to say farewell with a funeral service can also be an important step in helping you and your family cope with the loss.
On a lighter side, when you have the honour of taking on a new fur, feathered or scaled baby, a Pet Naming Ceremony can be a fantastic and fun way for you to celebrate your new addition and introduce your newest family member to friends and family.
